LEATHER Russet or Seal Jerky Horsehide Sewn in original Olive Drab Thread and Mustard Cotton Lining
JERSEY – 100% Pure 4 ply wool. Colour dyed to match original WWII issue remants., Original colours for this contract are Mid Brown(Caramel) and/or Rust . You can choose also goatskin looks amazing, a light seal spray onto a reddish base so the character of the hide shows through the beautiful pebble finish of the leather.
ZIPPER – This Type A-2 is fitted as standard with a Japanese made WW2 replica Alloy Talon Zipper with Bell Shaped Puller on Brown Cotton Herringbone Tape.
The USAAF Type A2 leather flying jacket was undoubtedly the most popular garment ever issued to aviators. First standardised 9th May 1931, it became a classic during its long service life and remained in use in every theatre of operations until long after WWII, despite discontinuation in April 1943.
