Inspired by the CVW-9 carrier-borne; our Far East Embroidered bag commemorates the accomplishments of what has now become the most lethal carrier in the world. Carrier Air Wing NINE (CVW-9) has a rich tradition dating back to March 1942 when the first numbered Carrier Air Group was established as CAG 9. As CVW-9, it made its first cruise aboard USS PHILIPPINE SEA in January 1953, participating in operations at the close of the Korean War. Our authentic helmet bag has been modified with a detailed embroidered white USN symbol as well as golden Far East Cruse letters honoring the services in the Pacific.
